MY LIFE IN EXCEL Due to a legal dispute over the care of her two children, a mother is forced to keep track of her life in an Excel sheet for two years. A reality in boxes; true, but at the same time far removed from the life she experienced. How does this cold data relate to the emotional, mental and physical memories of that time? Choreographer Liat Waysbort is back on stage again herself, reflecting on this personal period of her life through dance and text. Memories from that time - frustration, disbelief, broken dreams, but also strength, fighting spirit and feelings of absurdity - become tangible. Big data specialist Dana Ganot joins her on stage and professionally dissects the relationship between data and our daily existence. choreographer & performer: Liat Waysbort

BITTER SWEET DANCE Bitter Sweet Dance in Amsterdam is the dance hub of choreographer Liat Waysbort. Personal stories are used as an incentive to tell a bigger story about the world around us. Urgent subjects in society run like an undercurrent through the powerful, empowering, slightly absurd, physical and multidisciplinary performances. Bitter Sweet Dance undermines clichés of age, gender and physicality, stretches definitions of beauty and makes all things human tangible. "It grabs you by the senses".
LIAT WAYSBORT Liat Waysbort started her career as a dancer and rehearsal director for Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv, before coming to the Netherlands to get a Master in Choreography at CoDarts Dance Academy Rotterdam. She was a resident of Dansateliers and created work for companies such as Conny Janssen Danst, Dansgroep Amsterdam and The Meekers. She was nominated for the Award of the Most Promising Choreographer at the Dutch Dance Festival in 2012 and her work was shown on national and international festivals like Springdance (Utrecht), Dutch Dance Festival (Maastricht), Julidans (Amsterdam), rencontres- Choreographiques (Paris) and B-motion (Bassano del Grappa). In 2015 she founded the dance organisation Bitter Sweet Dance. Next to big and small stages, her work was visible in clubs, in a tea bar in Amsterdam, at TEDX and more. With Bitter Sweet Dance, she created Please me Please - The Solo, Please me Please - The Duet, Titanic, Gioia Live and now My Life in Excel.
Liat is a dedicated, open and forceful teacher who teaches - among others - at Modern Theatre Dance / Expanded Contemporary Dance at the Theatre Academy Amsterdam. She supports and coaches makers and dancers in finding their own artistic voice while expanding their awareness of their physical potential.
